Jerry Colangelo, USA Basketball Phoenix Suns chairman and former owner, told the Associated Press that he candidates within the next month to review plans for contact, if they would be interested in defending the team's gold medals won in the 2008 Olympics.

Colangelo told The Associated Press in a phone interview, "Just to make contact with all of the people on our list, give them a whole picture of what is coming. Basically to get a read from them as to what their interests and intentions are in advance."

Actually the entire 2008 roster through the 2012 Olympics was committed to going, but Colangelo noted in the interview that "circumstances have changed for some of the players who were on the Olympic team."

Colangelo said, "I'm really not worried about (anyone) not being available. If someone chooses not to play, that's one thing. The one thing I do know, we have an outstanding pool of players. Whoever the 12 turn out to be, they will represent our country very well."
